Big event tomorrow and you want your makeup to sit nicely, but you don’t want to risk a new product-induced breakout. The trick is to keep pre-event prep simple and gentle.
One or two days before, focus on hydration. Use a mild exfoliant only if your skin already tolerates it—this is not the time to try a strong peel for the first time. A hydrating mask or a thick layer of your usual moisturiser for a bit longer can plump the skin nicely.
On event day, cleanse with your regular face wash, apply a lightweight moisturiser and sunscreen (if daytime), then give it a few minutes to settle before makeup. If you use primer and your skin likes it, go ahead—but again, stick to products you know.
Avoid heavy, comedogenic oils under makeup if you’re acne-prone; they can make the base slide and clog.
Once the event is over, no matter how tired you are, remove everything properly. Double cleanse if you were wearing foundation, long-wear lipstick, or waterproof products. Sleeping in full glam is almost a guaranteed way to invite breakouts or irritation.
Short version: hydrate, don’t experiment last-minute, and clean up well after the party. That’s the safest route to “glow now, no regret later”.
